Golf Course adjusts holiday hours for clubhouse, pro shop

MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine Municipal Golf Course may be closed for the winter but the clubhouse and pro shop will remain open through the winter months. Winter hours are: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday; 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday; and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday. The clubhouse will be closed on Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday during the winter months.

The entire facility will be closed December 23, 2022, through December 26, 2022, for the Christmas holiday and from Dec. 31, 2022, through Jan. 2, 2023, for the New Year’s holiday.

The holiday schedule through January 2, 2023 will be:

Municipal Golf Course to close for the season on December 5

MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine Municipal Golf Course will be closing for the season at the end of the day on Sunday (Dec. 4). The Clubhouse will remain open throughout the winter months for event rentals, simulator play, golf lessons, and stocking up on necessities from the Pro Shop.

Winter hours are: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday; 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday; and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday. The clubhouse will be closed on Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday during the winter months.

Get ahead on the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping by finding the perfect gift for the golfer on your nice list. The Pro Shop has a variety of staples to stock up on for the 2023 season.

Keep an eye out for upcoming monthly events on the new Simulator. Lessons and casual play may be scheduled by calling the Pro Shop at (563) 263-4735 or via email at bkuddes@muscatineiowa.gov.

Play golf for a good cause at the 2022 Chili Open

MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine Municipal Golf Course invites golfers of all abilities to join in the fun on Sunday, October 30, for the 2022 Chili Open. Funds raised from the event will benefit Muscatine Parks and Recreation youth sports clinics and activities, as well as community special events such as the annual Elves Workshop, Easter Egg Hunt, and more.

The four-person scramble event will allow flexibility for golfers to schedule their own tee times between 7:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. The entry fee is $30 per person for Season Pass Holders and $40 per person for Non-Season Pass Holders. Greens fees, the prize fund, chili, and a golf cart are included in the price of entry.

“All You Can Play” golf special starts October 1

MUSCATINE, Iowa – The “All You Can Play” fall special is back at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course with added benefits. Starting Saturday (Oct. 1) golfers will be able to play as many rounds as they would like all day long, with a golf cart, for just $25 per day.

Head out to the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course and take advantage of this affordable playing opportunity on these early fall days. The “All You Can Play” special is valid daily through the end of the golf season with the exception of tournament days and during special events. Coupons and other special offers cannot be combined with this program.

Muscatine Harbor slip rentals available; gas dock open

MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine Boat Harbor and Marina and the Municipal Gas Dock, located in the upriver portion of Riverside Park on the Mississippi River, are open and available for public use. Both are operated by the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department.

The Municipal Boat Harbor and Marina has a variety of slips available for rent including 18 for houseboats and 64 for smaller, pleasure, and speed boats. Slips are non-covered and each one is equipped with electricity and water. The docking season began on May 1 and continues until October 1. (See below for contract, rates, and rules for the Boat Harbor).

The Municipal Gas Dock, located on the Muscatine riverfront in the channel just upriver from the Muscatine Boat Harbor and Marina, has gas and diesel available along with pump out service for boaters. Pump out is free with fuel purchase or $5.00 without a fuel purchase.

The Gas Dock is open 5-7 p.m. on Fridays, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting. Fuel is also available during the weekdays by calling the Parks and Recreation office at (563) 263-0241 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The Parks and Recreation Department would like to remind boat owners that slip rentals are currently being taken with plenty of slips still available to rent for the season. The Muscatine Municipal Boat Harbor and Marina is the perfect place to store your boat for the season, allowing you more time on the water and less time launching and retrieving your craft. Contact the Parks and Recreation Department office to reserve your slip over the phone at (563) 263-0241 or via email at parksoffice@muscatineiowa.gov.

The 2022 Summer Docking Contract and Boat Harbor Rules are available in the Boat Harbor/Marina section on the Parks and Recreation Department page on the City of Muscatine website.

Season golf passes available at Municipal Golf Course

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Season passes for the 2022 season at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course are available now in the Pro Shop inside the clubhouse during regular business hours. Payment plans are available during the months of March, April, and May.

Season passes that are purchased prior to April 1st will also receive an incentive card that is good for two range tokens, two guest green fees, two 18-hole cart rentals, one 15-minute golf lesson, 15 minutes on the TruGolf Simulator and 10 percent off any golf retail merchandise purchase over $50 (some restrictions apply). Incentive cards are not available with the payment plan.

Installment plans are available over a two- or three-month period and will include a $30.00 installment fee.
